Catheter changes at home

Catheter changes

Planned indwelling and suprapubic catheter changes at home, plus urgent call-outs for blocked, bypassing or dislodged catheters.

Registered nurse providing catheter changes at home

A catheter change shouldn't mean a day in an emergency department. Our registered nurses perform scheduled IDC and SPC changes in the home using sterile technique, check drainage and the insertion site, and book the next change before they leave.

When something goes wrong between visits — a blockage, bypassing, or a catheter that has come out — call our clinical line. Where a nurse is available in your area we come to you and resolve it, and we tell you honestly and immediately if we can't.

Catheter changes are typically funded through Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living, with catheters and consumables under Core Supports. Private visits are fixed-fee and quoted first.
