What a private in-home nurse can do

  • Catheter changes and catheter care.
  • Bowel care routines.
  • Wound care, including negative pressure therapy.
  • Health checks and vital signs.
  • Skin checks and pressure-area care.
  • Continence assessments and written reports.

Questions to ask any provider

  1. Are visits delivered by registered nurses?
  2. Which areas do you cover, and do you offer urgent call-outs?
  3. How are fees, travel and cancellations charged?
  4. Will I receive written notes or a report after visits?
  5. Can you work with my GP, specialist or support coordinator?

How it can be funded

Many people pay privately. Others use self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding, or other schemes. National Continence Solution is not a registered NDIS provider; if your plan is NDIA-managed, talk to us and we'll confirm what's possible. Read more about funding options.
